Project: Effect of elevated atmospheric CO2 concentrations on C sequestration and CH4 emission in a rice-wheat rotation in China, using Free Air CO2 Enrichment (FACE) and x13C signature

project duration
01-JAN-03 – 31-DEC-05
The Kyoto Protocol allows C sequestration in agriculture to demonstrate CO2 removals. Elevated CO2 might affect C accrual rates. The aim of the bilateral cooperation with China is to assess the response elevated CO2 of a typical rice wheat rotation to (1) C sequestration, (2) the relation between C accrual and C quality and N transformations, and (3) to CH4 emissions.
