Project: Artemia biodiversiteit in China: sustainable exploitation through DNA authentication
- project duration
- 01-JAN-03 – 31-DEC-04
- Cysts of the brine shrimp Artemia have high economic importance in larval aquaculture. Presently dozens of Artemia sites are known in China. This project aims at a better insight in, and protection of the biodiversity of Artemia, by the development of a suitable DNA fingerprinting technique. It also intends to contribute to a more sustainable exploitation of this natural source.
