- The aim is to quantify the (regional distribution of) ventricular wall stress using combined numerical modeling and MRI and/or ultrasound medical imaging. The developed methodologies will be applied for the study of the evolution of cardiac function and ventricular wall stress in a chronic animal model of mitral insufficiency (degenerative remodeling), and in treated heart failure patients (positive progressive remodeling).
