Project: The forming of conservative right wing networks in de sixties. An inquiry into the diaspora of ex-kolonists in Belgium afther the independence of Kongo

project duration
01-OCT-03 – 30-SEP-07
This inquiry wants to uncover conservative right wing networks who operated behind the scenes of the golden sixties, embedded in the politicl and ideological context of the cold war, with as a unifying element an anti-etatistic point of view. The networks consisted of industrials, bankers, militaries, ex-kolonists, magistrates and certain politicians who shared an authoritarian range of thoughts. Placed toward the postwar coprorative economy, in which the state was reserved a larger part, these conservative elites needed to go underground for manipulating the policies of the gouvernement in a way they wanted.
