Project: PDMS : an important progress in the determination of the primary structure of proteins.

project duration
01-JAN-00 – 31-DEC-99
Plasma desorption mass spectrometry (PDMS) is a new technique allowing the determination of the molecular weight of proteins and peptides with high precision and using only microgram amounts of material. The technique will be used to analyse proteinsof medical, pharmaceutical and general biological interest, amongst others by C-terminal sequence determination and for the identification of post-translation modifications of certain amino acids.
