Project: Magnetic semiconductor nanostructures: a bottom-up chemical approach

Abstract

The project aims at synthesizing magnetic semiconductor nanocrystals and 2D and 3D structures of nanocrystals via chemical means like colloidal chemistry, electrodeposition and sol-gel dip coating. The nanostructures will be characterized by susceptibility measurements, both in the dark and under illumination and by magnetic force microsopy. The application of magnetic semiconductor nanocrystals in spin-dependent elektron transport will be investigated.
