- Testosterone is an important determinant for muscle mass, skeleton, spermatogenesis and sexual function, as well as for bone metabolism and breast tissue, following metabolisation into oestradiol. The aim of our research is to identify genetic determinants for the interindividual variation in endogenous testosterone levels and -effects in men, and to investigate their implications for the optimisation of hormonal pharmacotherapy.
