Project: Radiogenomics based on SNP-anlaysis of genes involved in DNA repair
- project duration
- 01-JAN-04 – 31-OCT-06
- Based on a study of radiotherapy patients genetic profiles resulting from SNP-analysis of gnes involved in DNA repair associated with in vivo and in vitro radiosenistivity will be determined. SNP-analysis of the patient will allow an optimation of the dose based on an individual risk assessment for different complications of the therapy. A comparison with a control group will show how SNPs associated with in vitro radiosensitivity are also involved in cancer susceptibility after exposure to genotoxic agents. These results can be applied in cancer prevention.
