Project: Age determination of Late Quaternary loess and Roman to Medieval ceramic artifacts with the thermoluminescence method.
31-DEC-99 – 31-DEC-99
The research project envisages an application of the thermoluminescence dating method to two major problems in Belgian archaeology and Quaternary geology. The archaeological application is focused on pottery and other ceramics on which considerable doubt exists concerning their age of fabrication (Roman to Medieval). The geological application is focused on the Upper Pleistocene loess deposits of the Belgian Limburg.
