Project: A genetic study of the role of the photoactive yellow protein in blue light phototaxis of Chromatium salexigens.
- project duration
- 01-JAN-00 – 31-DEC-99
- The hypothesis will be tested that the photoactive yellow protein (PYP) of Chromatium salexigens is the photoreceptor for a blue light phototactic response. This will involve : 1) cloning op pyp and its flanking genes 2) construction of a pyp negative mutant 3) analysis of phototactic response in mutant and wild type.
