Project: A legal and economic analysis of the relation between (large) shareholders of stock exchange listed companies in a comparative perspective.
01-JAN-99 – 31-OCT-01
The (major) shareholders are the driving forces behind the changes in company live in Europe. Shareholders are increasingly pursuing "shareholder value" (the value which profits the shareholder). The position of the corporate bodies (general meeting, board of directors, management) directly influences the decisions effecting shareholder value. The purpose of these research is to collect empirical elements in four European states (Belgium, France, Germany and Great-Britain) and to connect these with the legal system. Internationalisation of the shareholding public will particularly retain attention of the researchers.
