Project: An empirical evaluation of cognitive models of avoidance learning in humans
- project duration
- 01-JAN-05 – 31-OCT-09
- Avoidance behavior is emitted in order to prevent that a certain event will take place in the future. Dysfunctional avoidance behavior plays a crucial role in may forms of psychopathology (e.g. chronic pain, obsessive compulsive disorder). Several experiments will be conducted to test the predictions of cognitive models of avoidance learning. This will be done by examining the functional role of the US and cue competition in avoidance learning.
