Project: Immunopathologic mechanisms in cranial cruciate ligament disease in the dog.
- project duration
- 01-JAN-02 – 31-OCT-06
- Rupture of the cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) is a common orthopaedic problem in dogs. Unlike in humans, the CCL of the dog seems to ruptore without abnormal loading. Immune-mediated causes for this pathology will be studied. The prevalence of auto-antibodies against collagen type-I and -II will be assessed. Furthermore, the immunological celpopulation in the stifle joint will be studied.
