Bio (via ORCID)
I am currently working as a Research Expert at Industrial Systems Engineering (ISyE) Research Group at Ghent University to extend one of its main research tracks (i.e. self-configuring assembly systems) further. In close cooperation with the involved professors, I am managing and executing the current project portfolio to continue and even scale up the research activities in the lab of UGent@Flanders Make in Kortrijk. Prior to this, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at KU Leuven, Belgium, and Purdue University, USA. My research interest mainly lies in the development of an efficient logistics approach for the maritime environment through various associated research modules of design and development of marine robots, multi-agent maritime systems, and intelligent path planning in the practical maritime environment. The main objective of my research is to advance the autonomy of marine robots for maritime logistics, data assimilation, and rescue operations. Henceforth, the scope of my approach combines theory, simulations, and experiments under one broader spectrum of the design, prototyping, and experiment of the marine robots.
