- After completing my Master's Degree in Translation at Ghent University, I have joined the Department of Translation, Interpreting and Communication as a PhD researcher. I am currently working on a study titled 'Effects of second language acquisition on cognitive development: A longitudinal study' under the supervision of Prof. dr. Evy Woumans. In this project, we aim to investigate whether bilingual children and children enrolled in immersion education differ from monolingual children as to language development, intelligence, working memory and executive functioning.
