Davide Cristoferi is Doctor in Medieval History and Cultural Heritage at the University of Siena. Now he is member of the GINi project (Growth, INequality and Institutions) at the Department of History, University of Ghent (2015-2019). His research focuses on the rural history of Late Medieval - Early Modern Tuscany and on how this was influenced by socio-political institutions. Currently he is studying the development of the share-cropping system in Florentine State between 14th-16th centuries and its consequences on growth and inequalities. Previously he studied (2012-2016) the development of Sienese institutions to manage sheep transhumance in the Late Medieval Southern Tuscany.
