- Edith Van Dyck is a musicologist and philosopher. At Ghent University, she currently works as guest professor at the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy. In 2013, she graduated on a dissertation titled "The influence of music and emotion on dance movement" . From 2013 to 2025, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Psychoacoustics and Electronic Music (IPEM), Ghent University, on the following projects: - EMCOMETECCA (Embodied Music Cognition and Mediation Technologies for Cultural/Creative Applications), which focused on action-perception coupling in musical interaction (e.g., dance, running, and walking). - BeatHealth, a project co-funded by the European Union under the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), which aimed at exploiting the link between rhythmical auditory information and movement for boosting motor performance and enhancing health and wellness. - CONBOTS, a project where innovative robotic technology, wearable sensors and machine learning techniques were employed in order to design human-human and human-robot interaction paradigms and apply them in augmented learning situations of beginning musicians. - POPHARS (co-promotor), funded by Belspo. The aim of the project was to obtain a comprehensive understanding of how festival attendees and festival stakeholders perceive drug and alcohol related interventions implemented at music festivals. Besides her work at Ghent University, she is lecturer in Music History at RITCS, Erasmus Brussels University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
