- Pouya Mohammadi received his MSc in Mechanical Engineering of Agricultural Machinery in 2012. He is currently a Joint Ph.D. student at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) and Ghent University (UGent) through a fully funded scholarship, focusing on advanced biorefinery, biotechnology, and process engineering. His Ph.D. research includes innovative projects such as developing an eco-friendly method to extract chitin and chitosan from shrimp shells, biomass pyrolysis to produce biochar and bio-oil, and a side project dedicated to developing green fuel additives like solketal and solketalacetin. Pouya's extensive industrial experience spans over 8 years, where he held key positions like Technical Manager and Maintenance Manager, enhancing his ability to integrate practical applications with academic research. He has authored over 30 research papers in high-impact journals such as the Journal of Hazardous Materials (Impact Factor: 12.2), Energy Conversion and Management (Impact Factor: 9.9), and the Journal of Cleaner Production (Impact Factor: 9.7), among others. His contributions have garnered more than 1,250 citations, earning him an h-index of 17 on Scopus.
