- I studied archaeology at Ghent University between 2006 and 2010 and has spent one semester at the University of Coimbra in Portugal. In my master dissertation I focused on the detection of submerged medieval villages in South East Zeeland. Subsequently I have completed the National Teaching Qualification for History at Ghent University and a post-graduate course in GIS at the University College Ghent. Before starting my doctoral research, I worked as a junior-archaeologist in Flemish commercial archaeology for 1.5 years. Since January 2013 I have been part of the Historical Archaeology Research Group (HARG), first as a fellow of a FWO Research Project that focuses on the development of the medieval port zone between Bruges and the Zwin (2013-2016) and next as a FWO junior-postdoc making a landscape-archaeological study of the painted maps of Pieter Pourbus (2018-2022). Currently, I am a postdoc researcher at the BOF-GOA-project High Tide – Low Tide (2022-2025) and the VLAIO-project Blue Balance (2022-2025).
